IRISH TENORS to Perform Holiday Show 12/18 at Herbst Theater

The Irish Tenors are celebrating the holidays with a new show at The Herbst Theater, 401 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco. The singers, Anthony Kearns, Finbar Wright, and Karl Scully, backed by a 35 piece orchestra, will perform December 18 at 8 PM. The show is one night only and tickets are $45.50 to $115.50. Since they first joined voices in 1998, The Irish Tenors have sold millions of albums around the world. They are gifted interpreters of a wide range of material, including Irish classics, such as "Danny Boy," and "My Wild Irish Rose." and many non-Irish songs as well. In the United States, they are one of the most successful Irish touring acts ever, second only to U2.

Anthony Kearns began singing publicly in his hometown of Kiltealy at the age of ten. Kearns' popularity continued to grow along with an extensive list of victorious competitions at "tops of the town" shows. Kearns has won many prestigious awards, including the Dermot Troy Trophy for Oratorio, and Best Male Singer at the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera.

Finbar Wright, tenor, songwriter, and poet, was born in Kinsale, Co. Cork. He studied theory of music at one of the oldest schools of music in the world, The Cork School of Music, where he also studied singing and piano. Having won all of the major singing awards at Feis Ceoil, Dublin he began his solo career in 1990 with the release of his first best-selling album 'Because Since then he has recorded six solo albums, one of which, 'Whatever You Believe', was a Christmas #1 in 1992, selling more than 100,000 copies in Ireland alone. Wright was declared 'Best Artist of the Year' in two consecutive years in the mid 90's. 'The Essential Finbar Wright', a collection of his finest recordings, was released in March 2006 on the Sony/BMG label.

Karl Scully recently returned to Ireland after completing two years of Post Graduate operatic studies in Italy. While living in Italy, Karl was resident tenor in Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, where he sang solo roles alongside world famous artists. He also starred as Count John McCormack in the film "Nora."
