Curran Theatre
1/8-2/3/2013
Get on board to see Broadway's new Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, starring two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Drowsy Chaperone) and Tony Award and Academy Award winner Joel Grey (Cabaret, Wicked). This Cole Porter classic also features sensational Tony Award-winning choreography by Kathleen Marshall. As the S.S. American heads out to sea, two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this hilariously bumpy ride are some of musical theatre's most memorable standards, including "I Get A Kick out of You," "It's De-lovely" and of course, "Anything Goes."

ALL ABOARD for this saucy and splendid production of Roundabout Theatre Company's ANYTHING GOES, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival and Choreography! One of the greatest musicals in theater history, Cole Porter's first-class musical comedy is sailing to San Francisco, starring critically-acclaimed actress Rachel York as Reno Sweeney and directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Kathleen Marshall. WHY TORTURE IS WRONG, AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM
The Custom Made Theatre Company
1/11-2/10/2013
Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them tells the story of a young woman in crisis: Is her new husband, whom she married when drunk, a terrorist? Or just crazy? Or both? Is her father's hobby of butterfly collecting really a cover for his involvement in a shadow government? Does her mother go to the theater frequently to seek mental escape, or is she just insane? Add in a minister who directs porno, and a ladylike operative whose underwear just won't stay up, and this black comedy will make us laugh all the way to the waterboarding room.

The Wild Bride in Broadway THE WILD BRIDE
Berkeley Repertory Theater
1/26-2/17/2013
The Wild Bride is back! The holiday hit that ran away with hearts last winter returns for a honeymoon engagement in 2013. Kneehigh Theatre comes back to America with a stunning show that asks…What happens when your father accidentally sells you to the devil? The San Francisco Chronicle raves, "Bride is a gift that keeps on giving. What starts in an enchanted, bluesy folktale world dips into creepy nightmare terrain and sails aloft on wings of grit, resolution and fantasy. It's a fairy tale for adults." Don't miss this devilish mix of vivid music and sweet romance. Please note: The Wild Bride includes strobe effects, smoke effects, herbal cigarettes and loud noises including gunfire. The show also features brief simulated violence and sex. If you have questions about the show's content, please contact the box office. Photo: kevinberne.com

Wicked in Broadway WICKED
SHN Orpheum Theater
1/23-2/17/2013
Back by "Popular" demand! Variety calls WICKED "a cultural phenomenon," and when it last played San Francisco, it broke box office records and sold out in record time. Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, WICKED is "Broadway's biggest blockbuster" -The New York Times. Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for "the most complete - and completely satisfying - new musical in a long time" - USA Today.
