Photo Flash: David Henry Hwang, Leigh Silverman and More in Rehearsal for CHINGLISH at Berkeley Rep

In just a couple of weeks, Berkeley Rep will get the Bay Area speaking CHINGLISH when this Broadway comedy makes its West Coast premiere. Following the California engagement, this hilarious new play from Tony Award-winner David Henry Hwang heads to Hong Kong, the first time that Berkeley Rep will ever take a show to Asia. Chinglish begins previews on August 24, opens on August 29, and runs through July 15.

CHINGLISH features designs by David Korins (sets), Anita Yavich (costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lighting), Darron L West (sound), and Jeff Sugg and Shawn Duan (projections). The play stars Vivian Chiu, Celeste Den, Michelle Krusiec, Austin Ku, Alex Moggridge, Brian Nishii, and Larry Lei Zhang.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Roda Theatre is located at 2015 Addison Street at Shattuck, Berkeley, Calif. CHINGLISH will run August 24 – October 7, 2012. For tickets and information, visit berkeleyrep.org.
