SEX AND THE CITY: LIVE! to Play the Rebel, Wednesdays Beg. 1/16

Don't miss this over-the-top stage adaptation of the show that single-handedly revived the cocktail - "the cosmopolitan"...and premarital sex! Velvet Rage Productions presents: Sex and the City: LIVE! Featuring San Francisco's finest drag performers in two episodes each night. The show runs for an open-ended engagement, every Wednesday night beginning January 16, 2013 at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Rebel in San Francisco (1760 Market St. at Valencia St.).

After its sold-out smash run last year, Sex and the City: LIVE! is back with brand new episodes. Each performance will feature two episodes based on the iconographic TV show that ran on HBO from 1998 - 2004 (now in syndication).

Tix are $20 in advance at http://satc.brownpapertickets.com $25 at the door. Advance tickets recommended, as seating is limited. Whether it's happy hour with co-workers, or late night shenanigans with best friends, every Wednesday night the cosmopolitans will be as plentiful as the laughs in this uproarious drag send up.

Your favorite four women from "the city that never sleeps" are about to invade "the City by the Bay"! From the creators who brought you the stage adaptations of such shows as Roseanne and Designing Women, Velvet Rage Productions is proud to announce the return of Sex and the City: Live! - featuring a cornucopia of the most uproarious and ribald moments of the ground-breaking series. The "girls" are four young professional women in search of the perfect relationship and, of course, orgasms. Each episode features multiple storylines that tackled relevant and modern social issues including sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, safe sex, promiscuity, femininity and of course shoes - while exploring the difference between friendships and relationships.

Sex And The City: LIVE! features San Francisco's finest drag performers including: Heklina (Trannyshack / The Golden Girls) D'Arcy Drollinger (Project Lohan), Lady Bear (Roseanne), Trixxie Carr (Lily's Revenge), Leigh Crow (Elvis Herselvis), Cookie Dough (The Monster Show / The Golden Girls), Jordan Wheeler, and more! The show is directed by D'Arcy Drollinger.

Sex and the City the original HBO series received both acclaim and criticism for its subjects and characters, and spawned two feature films, Sex and the City (2008) and its sequel Sex and the City 2 (2010). It also won seven of its 54 Emmy Award nominations, eight of its 24 Golden Globe Award nominations, and three of its 11 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Sex and the City still airs in syndication worldwide and has been listed on Entertainment Weekly's end-of-the-decade "best of" list and as one of Time magazine's 100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME.

Sex and the City: LIVE! is directed by D'Arcy Drollinger. Lighting design by Michael Blythe.
