Robert Currier directs this saucy, fast-paced comedy about a charming young man who upsets Parisian high society with his tall tales of conquest. Actor Darren Bridgett plays the funny fibber in this 17th century romp written by David Ives.
Featuring rhyming couplets, high energy and comic timing, David Ives' clever adaptation of Pierre Corneille's French farce was heralded as "a true comic gem" when commissioned and presented by Washington D.C.'s Shakespeare Theatre in 2010.
The professional, award-winning Marin Shakespeare Company presents its annual Shakespeare festival under the summer stars in its outdoor venue, Forest Meadows Amphitheatre, located on the campus of Dominican University of California in San Rafael, Calif.
The outdoor amphitheater has comfortable bench seating and opens one hour prior to show time for picnicking. Picnics and alcohol are welcome or patrons can purchase snacks at the Theatre Café. Warm clothing, jackets, blankets are recommended for evening performances.
