Berkeley Rep Announces Summer Classes


Students of all ages can sign up for a summer of fun at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Classes abound in expanded offerings for kids and adults during the School of Theatre's summer session - plus, teens have a special opportunity to spend part of their break in a four-week Summer Intensive or the new Teen Actors Studio. Activities begin July 2 at the Theatre's performing-arts complex in downtown Berkeley.

Berkely Rep Offers Summer Classes for All Ages


Classes at the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre's School of Theatre begin on July 6, and the summer session includes 12 classes for adults, three classes for students in elementary school, and a theatre intensive for teens. The first session, for students entering grades 6-8, takes place on weekdays from June 21 through July 16. The second session, for teens in grades 9-12, is held July 19 through August 13. Due to overwhelming response from eager audiences, TheatreWorks' moving production of Chaim Potok's classic tale, THE CHOSEN, is adding performances, and will now extend its run through November 8 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. THE CHOSEN, adapted for the stage by Chaim Potok and Aaron Posner is the classic uplifting tale of fathers and sons, faith and family, featuring Bay Area theatre veteran Corey Fischer, with The Jewish Theatre of San Francisco (formerly A Traveling Jewish Theatre) Artistic Director Aaron Davidman at the helm.
